The Beginning
It began with Lubna, and a love of making.
She never trained formally — no degree, no course, no studio behind her. What she had was an eye, and a way of showing love. When someone close to her had a moment worth marking — a wedding, a celebration, a milestone — Lubna designed something for it. Not a dress made for a market, but for a person she cared about, so that her moment would feel truly her own.
Those pieces travelled the way love does — from one woman to the next, each asking the same question: who made this? Almost ten years ago, from all that quiet making, Kaara came to be. Not from a boardroom or a trend forecast, but from one woman leading with heart.
The Hands That Make It
What began with one pair of hands is now the work of many.
Every Kaara piece passes through our karigars — many of whom have been with us from the very start — who carry skills handed down through generations. The embroidery, the handwork, the finishing, the small details that make a piece feel considered: these are theirs. When you wear Kaara, you are wearing their craft.
We make with care, and never in a hurry. The handwork takes the time it takes — and that is what makes a piece worth keeping.
Lead with heart. Dress with purpose.
It is more than a line — it is how Kaara began. Lubna led with what she loved, for the purpose of making the people around her happy, so their moments truly became special. That is what dressing with purpose means to us: choosing pieces that hold meaning — worn for the moments that matter, made to be kept, and one day passed on.
Elegance over noise. Craft over quantity. A wardrobe built slowly, of things you truly love. We are not chasing seasons; we are making heirlooms for the women of now.
A Community That Leads With Heart
Kaara is more than what we make. We are building a community of women who lead with heart — who bring care and intention to what they wear, and to how they live.
She dresses for the occasion and for herself in equal measure. She marks the moments that matter, for herself and for the people she loves — the way Lubna always has.
If this sounds like you, you are already one of us.
